Hatchery Technician 
We currently have a vacancy for a Hatchery Technician at our research Hatchery at Machrihanish, near Campbeltown.  The post would be offered on a permanent full-time basis, working a 40 hour week any 5 days out of 7. 
 
This role is focused upon the development of wrasse as cleaner fish for the control of sea lice on salmon and on developing a sustainable culture of wrasse that avoids having to take fish from the wild and to conduct research to optimise their use for best practice in terms of wrasse and salmon welfare.  Applications would be particularly welcome from candidates who have some experience in fish farming operations but it is not essential as full training and support would be provided.  A driving license is essential. 
 
Beyond the nature of the role, the post holder would be expected to undertake over-time as required in order to accommodate the business needs of the Hatchery and, for the same reason, would be part of the site alarm and weekend rota. 
 
Part Time Hatchery Technician 
We currently have a vacancy for a Hatchery Technician at our research Hatchery at Machrihanish, near Campbeltown.  The post would be offered on a permanent part-time basis, working a 20 hour week. 
 
This role will entail water quality, bacterial and plankton monitoring of all systems at Machrihanish. Applications would be particularly welcome from candidates who have some experience in fish farming operations but it is not essential as full training and support would be provided.  A driving license is essential.
