In Ireland, Marine Harvest has farming, processing, distribution and sales activities. A fully-integrated salmon breeding, farming and processing operation, this unit produces both organic salmon and premium Eco-Label salmon for distribution to Ireland, Europe and North America.

Activities: At Co. Donegal, we produce salmon ova from our broodstock in Mulroy Bay. This ova is distributed to our freshwater sites in Altan and Pettigo for smolt production. The Donegal seawater sites are supplied with smolt from the Altan smolt unit while our Organic seafarms are supplied from the organic smolt unit in Pettigo.
After transfer to sea, the salmon are grown for a further 18 to 20 months prior to transfer to the harvest station at Millstone in Mulroy Bay. All organic and Eco-Label salmon is processed at the BRC accredited processing plant in Rinmore, Co. Donegal from where they are distributed in refrigerated trucks to customers in Ireland, Europe and North America.
